Rio Sagrado, A Belmond Hotel, Sacred Valley

The service at Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado made our stay unforgettable. The staff anticipated what we needed, and every interaction felt warm, genuine, and thoughtful. Bernie deserves a special mention for his kindness and attention to detail, which made us feel so welcome. The property is stunning, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with a serene, thoughtful design that fits its surroundings. Everything worked so smoothly, leaving us with one of the best hotel experiences of our lives and a lasting impression.

The Hiram Bingham train to Machu Picchu was the highlight of our stay. The 2.5-hour trip each way felt like stepping into an earlier era of elegance, with wonderful food and drink and a brilliant band entertaining us. After busy Lima, we spent three nights in this calm oasis, and the whole visit was perfect from arrival to departure. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Our garden suite looked over lovely grounds and the Urubamba river, and had everything we needed, including luxury bathroom products and hot water bottles during evening turn-down. The location is stunning. Dinner and breakfast were amazing, with a wide variety of locally produced food and interesting ingredients that made us wish our UK restaurants served food like this. Julia was so helpful, and thanks to her and all the staff for making our stay so special. We'll remember it for years.

The views were breathtaking, and the food was better than some Michelin Star restaurants we've been to. The restaurant service was outstanding too. Feeding baby alpacas after breakfast one morning is a memory I'll carry with me for the rest of my life. The rooms were gorgeous, and we enjoyed the welcome snack. They even gave us bespoke luggage tags when we left. This hotel is everything we dream of when we travel, I love this place!

Belmond Hotel Rio Sagrado balances luxury, authenticity, and cultural immersion so well. The guided hike to the Maras salt mines was scenic and enriching, and the private cooking class was a fun, hands-on introduction to traditional Peruvian flavors. Feeding the alpacas on the grounds was another lovely, memorable moment. The hotel sits in a breathtaking spot beside the Urubamba River, with peaceful gardens and stunning views. Rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, in keeping with the natural surroundings. Service was warm, professional, and attentive throughout. Hotel Manager Ray personally made sure everything went smoothly and felt memorable. Dining was excellent too, with fresh local ingredients and a menu that showed the richness of Peruvian cuisine. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Sacred Valley who wants world-class accommodation and unforgettable experiences.
