The spa and pool were a welcome way to relax after exploring, and having a private train station on site was a real advantage for guests heading to Machu Picchu. Our room was spacious, elegant, comfortable, and immaculately kept, with lovely valley views. Tambo del Inka sits in the heart of the Sacred Valley, beside the river and surrounded by mountains. The property is beautifully designed, combining luxury with Andean touches. Breakfast had a wide range of fresh, high quality options, and the dining overall exceeded our expectations. From arrival onward, the staff were warm and genuinely hospitable. Everything about the service was flawless. Tambo del Inka brought together comfort, nature, and wonderful service, an outstanding luxury stay. Highly recommended.

Dinner was a highlight of our two days there, a fine Peruvian meal. Breakfast was excellent too, with a generous buffet and the option to order from a menu. The hotel staff were responsive and helpful, and even kept our ice pack frozen until we left. Our room was immaculate and very comfortable. The place has a calming atmosphere, ideal for relaxing after touring. We also appreciated the tea station by reception, with muna tea for digestion and coca tea for altitude. I’d recommend staying here to tour the Sacred Valley or acclimate before continuing to Machu Picchu.

The grounds are enormous, with its own train station, gardens, greenhouse, and forest, and the surroundings are stunning. We had a magical stay at TDI, easily the best Luxury Collection property we’ve visited. The spa was amazing, though the gym was a bit small but still okay. Service was top notch and the food delicious. The titanium treatment was phenomenal, we got upgraded to a senior suite, and late checkout was no problem. Don’t miss the weekly baby alpaca experience, it made our trip.

The hotel has real charm, with a beautiful lobby and striking Andean decor. Breakfast comes with live music, and the baby alpaca on the property puts an instant smile on your face. Guests can also use the pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. The concierge was a major letdown, a 1 out of 5. Replies were slow, and the information was often incomplete or not very thoughtful, so I had to follow up repeatedly. After five emails trying to arrange a car to the train station, I went to the desk, but they booked the wrong time. That caused a lot of stress on departure day, and we made our Machu Picchu train by only a couple of minutes. Breakfast service was another weak spot. It wasn’t outright bad, but felt basic, indifferent, and careless, without much warmth or attention. I’d still recommend the hotel for its charm and amenities, though based on my international experiences, it doesn’t deliver a true five-star stay.

The resort felt like a fairy tale, and it had the nicest pool and jacuzzi. The rooms were clean and new, breakfast was amazing, and room service was delicious. All the staff were wonderful. I’m so glad I got to meet Pachito and Indi, the alpacas!
