Tierra Viva Valle Sagrado Urubamba

Lovely, peaceful location with amazing mountain views, birds, and flowers. The rooms are nice, though one thing is a bit strange: once you close the roll curtains, you can’t get out of the room anymore.

I wish I’d had more time to look around. I arrived late in the evening and was gone early the next morning, but it seemed like a very nice hotel. The room was extremely spacious, and the grounds were decorated to fit the natural beauty of the area. There was plenty of seating in the large breakfast buffet area. The contrast on the way in was striking: the short road from the main highway was unpaved and in poor condition, with muddy potholes and unfinished buildings.

This was our favorite part of the trip. The garden setting was beautiful, the remote area was peaceful at night, and there were lots of stars. We liked the room and breakfast, and enjoyed the restaurant. Staff were polite and very professional. It’s remote, so we used van transportation through an agency to get there and explore nearby. Otherwise, you need a car. A ride into town provided by the hotel costs 39 soles one way. I thought Urubamba was worth a visit, and the central square and valley were magical during the golden hour.

We felt so welcome here. The staff were friendly, helpful, accommodating, and very attentive. The spa was pricey but definitely worth it. We were celebrating our honeymoon and appreciated the complimentary gestures. A lovely hotel for a few peaceful days, highly recommend.
