Sonesta Posadas del Inca Yucay

The grounds are gorgeous, full of beautiful buildings, flowers and courtyards, and we loved staying here. Everyone was so friendly, and the service was excellent. On weekdays there were vendors on the property, and I thought their prices were good. Breakfast was fine, the lunch buffet was good, and after a long day at MachuPicchu, the pizza restaurant really hit the spot. We also loved the café. It’s in a cute little town with a few convenience stores and a brewery nearby. There’s also a beautiful walking trail up into the mountains to some sites. Urubamba, with more restaurants and a bigger-town feel, is a quick 10-minute Uber ride away. We’d absolutely recommend this hotel.

The repeated emails after checkout asking us to pay for meals we’d already paid for in cash were disappointing. We had the receipt and sorted it out quickly, but it left us wondering how such a simple payment got recorded incorrectly. That took away from an otherwise pleasant couple of nights as part of a Cosmos tour. The rooms and gardens were beautifully kept and had a lovely rustic feel. Both the dinner and breakfast buffets had a good selection.

Our only problem was that one night all our toiletries got soaked, apparently because of overnight rain, even though the bathroom window was closed and locked. I’m sure management would have sorted it out quickly if we’d mentioned it. We loved this converted monastery tucked into the mountains. The service was outstanding, the restaurant food was excellent, and the setting made for a memorable stay.

Restaurants on the property made it convenient to eat without having to leave the hotel and go looking for food. The staff were super friendly, showed us to our room and helped with our bags. There’s security at the entrance, which made us feel very safe, especially with our rental car parked there. The Sonesta Hotel Posadas del Inca Yucay was absolutely beautiful, with stunning rooms, grounds and views.
