The staff were always smiling and proactive about helping us. We stayed in the island section of Intercontinental, where all the rooms were overwater bungalows. The view of the main island, lagoon, and other bungalows was awesome, and we could see coral and fish under the glass-top table. We had fun snorkeling and kayaking at the resort, and also saw stand-up boards and an outrigger boat available. We asked permission to keep our snorkeling gear in the room, and that meant we could snorkel every day, several times a day. We didn't even have to swim, just walk in and put our faces in the water. The seawater was less bitter, salty, and smelly than in San Diego or Cancun, though still very spicy to the eyes. Breakfast at the buffet and à la carte dinner were delicious and had a good variety. We had Red Octopus Coconut Milk Curry three times, and it was fabulous each time. Poisson Cru, Red Tuna Tataki, and Tuna Tartare were also great. Never try beef fillet on a tropical island, though! For the ATV and Jet Ski combo excursion, we only had to walk three minutes to get there.

We had such a lovely time at Intercontinental Le Moana Bora Bora resort, relaxing and exploring the island. The concierge team helped plan our excursions before we arrived, so we could just unwind once we got there. Constance was especially helpful when we arrived, and all the staff were delightful and attentive. Mrs. Levy, the general manager, was lovely from her greeting on arrival to seeing us at breakfast each day and chatting as we left. We enjoyed every moment at the resort. Māuruuru!

We had a fantastic family week at Le Moana, with plenty of fun and relaxation. The beach bungalows were perfect for us, and it felt like we had our own private beach. The food was very good, especially the breakfast buffet. Jack and the team made sure we had what we needed to enjoy the water, with easy access to kayaks, paddle boards, and snorkeling gear. The staff were kind and supportive when our oldest son arrived sick with a stomach bug from our night in Tahiti. They offered to help however they could, and General Manager Laurence checked on him the next couple of mornings. That meant a lot. The warm welcome from Pierre set the tone, and the same care continued throughout the stay. You can tell the Le Moana staff take pride in the resort and go out of their way for guests. The concierge team had also been incredibly responsive and helpful for months before the trip, getting us set up for a great week. Thanks to Vae, Kaeda, and the whole team!

We splurged on an overwater bungalow, and it was crazy expensive, though a bit less than the other big-name places, including the IC's other resort on the outer motu. It felt special, with a roomy, pretty interior and a glass coffee table that lifts out so you can look down at fish and coral. The corals sit in waist-deep, crystal-clear water with plenty of fish. I even saw a bright yellow moral eel and spent lots of time snorkeling there. The location is fabulous, the beach is lovely, and the beach bungalows looked nice too. Breakfast was expensive but very good. The Maitai hotel is a five-minute walk away and much cheaper. It's definitely a step down, but still really nice.

The water and marine life around the overwater bungalow were better than at the other resorts I checked out. It's bright, clear blue, with lots of different fish. At the other places, the water was deeper or murkier, or there was less coral and fish to see. This is the best resort in Bora Bora! The service was stellar. The staff were extremely kind, and the manager greeted us personally every day. They brought fresh towels and a couple of tasty treats each afternoon. There's a good range of free and paid activities, and since my husband and I are staying eight nights, they even offered to make different dishes for us on request. It's smaller than the other resorts, which is nice. You don't need golf carts to get around, and you can stroll along without constantly stepping off the paved road to avoid carts. It's also right by Matira Beach, one of the island's best beaches. We'll definitely stay again. The Deep Ocean Spa @ the IC Thalasso is worth the money. Definitely get a treatment or two, and don't miss the great snorkeling!
