Tea's hospitality was wonderful, and she always had fresh fruit for us. Kayaks and snorkling equipment were free to use, too. We spent two incredible days in the garden tree house, just a minute's walk from the best and only white-sand beach on Tahiti island. Birds woke us in the morning, and at night we could look at the stars from the porch. If you're after a unique island experience, this is the place.

Unutea looked after us so well, showing us around the property and checking whether we needed anything. Our group loved staying at Fare Ylang Ylang and would recommend it to anyone wanting a unique Tahitian experience. It’s right on a beach locals like to visit, with an easy drive to food and grocery stores. The lush gardens and houses made mostly of wood and bamboo give the whole place a lovely island feel. The treehouse looks out over the ocean and has a swing, so it's great for kids. It feels charming and unlike most of the tourist places in the city. You can also rent it on Airbnb.

It's tough to leave this lush little haven. The beachfront bungalow is superb, with waves to fall asleep to, and it's fully equipped, even down to the mosquito repellent 😋. Papeete is less than 40 minutes away, with surfing nearby and a shopping area close too. For meals, there are traditional restaurants, especially Lanis and Nui, or food trucks if you want something more intimate. And a big thanks to the neighbors for the spontaneous Polynesian fire show with music and dancing 🔥.
