The easy walk to Vaiava beach was a big plus, about ten minutes away for snorkeling and lovely sunsets. The store is also handy, just a 10-15 minute walk down the road. At Pension Te Miti, Christelle and Fred made me feel right at home and were incredibly kind. They know the island well, gave me great recommendations, and were attentive and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was a nice chance to sit with a good coffee and hear stories from other guests or one of Fred’s funny anecdotes. My dorm bed was comfortable, and the shared kitchen and bathrooms were cleaned every day. If I’m back in Tahiti, I’m definitely coming again.

A quiet, laid-back bed and breakfast, with no frills but a lovely place to stay and meet other travelers. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The sea is only 200 meters away, and there are mountain views. Having your own transport is handy, though there’s a bus on the main road. It’s 15 km from the airport. You can bring food and cook dinner, or head out for something local. Great value for money.

We really enjoyed staying here as a couple. Our private room was cozy, and we also loved spending time in the common areas chatting with the other guests, the friendly hosts, and their cute dogs. The hosts helped us with recommendations and bookings and were always kind. Everything was clean, and the kitchen had what we needed to make our own dinner. The location was fine, in a calm, quiet area close to a lovely snorkeling beach. The bus stops near the pension, though it can be unreliable. We also got lucky hitchhiking. We’d recommend staying here and would come back if we’re in Tahiti again.

We really enjoyed the garden and the lagoon just across the way, where you can take a long walk. Elin was warm and helpful, and arranged whale watching and other activities for us. We also had a lovely stay and a great three-course dinner.
