Rangiroa Villa Temoana

The evening routine was a highlight: watching dolphins at the pass, then sitting on our private terrace with wine and the sound of the waves. We spent four nights at Va’a I Te Moana while island-hopping in French Polynesia for our honeymoon, and the bungalow suited us well. It was simple but comfortable, with a fridge, kitchen, and bathroom. We were out exploring most of the time anyway. Rosie was wonderful. She arranged taxis, was there whenever we needed help, and even offered us a ride to the beach when she happened to pass us during an outing. She really did go the extra mile. We agree with the other reviews about the hospitality. There are shops and restaurants nearby, though check their opening times, and be prepared for some to still be closed. Do your research before arriving: this is a small pension on an isolated South Pacific island, not a resort. We came prepared for what it offered and appreciated the authentic Polynesian hospitality.

The room was clean, but the heat and noise made it hard to sleep. There was no air conditioning, and we needed three fans. They were loud enough that we got only a few hours of sleep each night. With electricity costing so much, running three fans all day seems less effective than using air conditioning for a few hours at night. That needs improvement, especially since the price felt far too high for what we got. The location was very good, and Anapa and his wife were exceptionally kind, helpful hosts. Thank you both for everything.

The Tiputa Pass is just a short walk away, and you can watch dolphins jumping there at sunset. There are also bikes available at no charge for exploring the island, which has few vehicles. Restaurants are nearby too, a real plus on an island with so few of them. The owners were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help with anything. The place was very clean, the beds were comfortable, the coffee was really good, and the showers were hot. A really good little place to stay in Rangiroa for any kind of trip. You won't be disappointed.

Rosie was quick to bring anything we needed for the dorm, and the service was good. The beds were good, with decent room for backpacks. It's close to places to eat, a diving centre, and the water. Everything felt perfect. Mauru'uru!🌺
