The staff were a real bright spot, especially the thoughtful people who joined us on the light trek. The property is spacious, with a big pool and open areas that worked well for our pets. We also liked having good fresh French press coffee in the room. But we chose the White House Villa expecting an enclosed, air-conditioned house where our family could spend time together. It felt more like five separate villas in one building. The shared areas had no air conditioning or fans, got hot, and were hard to use by afternoon because of the mosquitoes. That undercut one of the main reasons we booked. The website's description of it as a luxury villa felt misleading, and it didn't match what we found. We paid ₱72,000 for accommodation, before extra fees, and expected a more comfortable, seamless stay for that price. The water stopped working in the second-floor showers after our afternoon at the pool. Internet was also poor, so watching movies or playing online games together wasn't really possible. The massage cost ₱2,000 at the cheapest for 90 minutes, but wasn't quite what we expected. The therapists seemed to have several duties, which may have affected the session. The Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day breakfast buffets were convenient, though we thought the food quality and availability could be better for the price. We enjoyed the pandesal, but there was very little, only two each before it ran out. We also booked the s’mores package for 11, though only five of us took part. The portions seemed small for the whole group. After we mentioned it, the staff understood and adjusted the charge at checkout, which we appreciated. We stayed December 23 to 25. I had recommended Hiraya to my family, and came away feeling I'd let them down. We did appreciate the staff's warmth and effort, but the stay didn't live up to our expectations for the price.

The resort feels like a hidden treasure in a quiet, unassuming town. It's large, surrounded by nature, and I felt relaxed just walking around. The accommodations looked good, and I was pleasantly surprised by the design. I'd happily visit again. There were flies and mosquitoes, so come prepared. Internet can be tricky because the place is remote. There is a connection, and mobile data works in some spots, but it's best to expect some difficulty so you won't be disappointed. Highly recommend staying here.

The staff were so welcoming, and the whole place made it easy to slow down and switch off from everyday noise. I had one of the best sleeps I've had in ages. It's peaceful and surrounded by nature, and the huge pool was great. I don't think it's heated, but it was surprisingly warm. Signal can be patchy in some areas. That didn't bother me much, since I wasn't there to spend the trip doomscrolling. If you're after a nature break in Pangasinan to recharge, this place is worth it. Highly recommend!

Our stay started with breakfast at Tio Berto's, which really stuck with me. The menu, presentation, taste and servings were lovely, and the authentic sagada drip coffee was memorable too. Even the bread stood out, toasted just right with a little butter and sugar, instead of the usual plain toast. The servers also explained the resort's “flies season” and gave us tips for dealing with them. Our villa was a short walk from the big warm pool and a lovely pond, and felt very homey. It had a swing, dipping pool, kitchen area, den and a nicely lit room. We loved the pizzas at lunch and merienda, the Filipino and Italian dinner spreads, and the CHEESECAKE. I wish they could bring Tio Berto's food to Manila. The Hiraya staff are such a dedicated, thoughtful team. You really should try the place at least once, or twice, or thrice!

We went in expecting a quiet, calm work-cation that wouldn't be boring. We even brought laptops and baon wine, thinking we'd be left to ourselves. Instead, we barely touched the laptops. The bed was so comfortable we got the sleep we badly needed, and the dipping pool was just right for warm Pangasinan afternoons. There were activities we hadn't expected to join: learning local dishes and eating them for lunch, a mixology class where we'll definitely make a spiked version at home, a full body massage, hiking at 6AM, and their rafting/fishing experience, all within the property. On the second day, the staff surprised us with a beautiful anniversary dinner setup. Thanks to the amazing Hiraya team and owners for turning our planned work-cation into a proper vacation. I'd easily give @hirayaresort 10/10.
