The location is beautiful, but the amenities were so poor. It felt like stepping back in time, and I hoped the towel wouldn't eat me. Water pressure was so weak even a small African village might be proud of it, and rusty water came from every tap. The beach was covered with plastic straws and trash. The food was awful, and my stomach reminded me all night. Wi-Fi was useless, so unplugging wasn't optional. At 5am the guards sang karaoke loudly, sounding like fighting cats. The tap water was scented, so bring perfume. The exhaust fan on the ceiling was so green and grey it looked like a vegetable garden with fast growth. Bring your own toiletries and maybe a shower head, unless you want to use a pre-WW1 tabo. Black coffee came in a 3-in-1 sachet. If clean bedding matters to you, the stains here seem to be a way of life. Metal chairs by the plastic-soaked sunset may send you looking for a chiropractor. There were lovely bean bags by the beach, seasoned by local asos, though I couldn't tell if the mark was melted chocolate. Maps took us to an angry little man, who told us to drive around the next barangay, then stared at us. The journey was 100m, but apparently no one could pass. At least they had San Mig Light.

The internet was poor, the water pressure was very weak, and the water smelled unpleasant. I was also concerned about the room's upkeep: the shower head was rusty, the exhaust fan looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in years, and the bucket and scooper (tabo) looked dirty and unpleasant to use. I included pictures of some of these issues. Around 6:00 AM, the security guard played loud music while guests were still sleeping. Some staff were kind and accommodating, though others could use more customer service training. The owner doesn't seem to check the place regularly, since many areas clearly need improvement. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and improves cleanliness, maintenance, and the guest experience.

Bamboo Paraiso is a hidden paradise in alaminos, right on the beachfront and convenient for trips to 100 islands. At night during high tide, the water can reach the second stair going down to shore. Low tide is between 5am and 10am, which is a fun time for kids. They can still enjoy the beach in the afternoon too, when the water was only waist-high for my child. The restaurant has different kinds of food. You can order seafood for your family in advance, just let them know a day ahead. Breakfast silog costs P150-P180. You can't cook on the property since there's a restaurant. You can book a trip to Hundred islands right there. It was P120/person, though I can't remember the discounted price. A motor boat costs P2000 for 11-15 pax.

The resort is in a great spot, right on the beach and handy for tours to 100 islands. There seems to be a lot of potential, but I felt the staff weren't running the place as they should. The security guard watched a movie at full volume, so I couldn't sleep all night. At 5am staff came in and turned music on full blast. When I mentioned it, they just shrugged. Our bathroom had no hot water, soap, or shampoo. It's a shame, because in a couple more years this place could be run into the ground.

There was no electricity or running water all day when we arrived. We went island hopping, and when we got back the water was still only intermittent at best. The shower head was broken, and there was no hot water. The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
