Abagatan Ti Manila

We spent one night there over Valentine’s weekend with our four-year-old. Dinner was a mess: we ordered around 7 pm, waited close to two hours, and still got nothing despite checking several times. The orders were mixed up, and most of the staff seemed unsure what to do. A few were rude, too. They should have told us at the start if they couldn’t serve us. A really bad experience for our family.

The staff were courteous and professional, which was a delightful surprise. They felt very Pinoy, too. The place itself is really nice.

We picked this hotel for my sister’s wedding anniversary, and it worked out so well for our family vacation. The peaceful gardens and nature views made it easy to relax. My sister had a baby this year, and we were glad it was baby friendly. We also saw some very cute Shih Tzus and corgis, so it’s pet friendly as well. Our room was roomy and comfortable. Dinner was a highlight, with hearty Filipino dishes like bulalo, bangus, sisig, and vegetables at Zida Kitchen. Kap’ean Coffee was a cozy spot for a coffee break, and I could do Zoom calls thanks to the strong Wi-Fi. The staff were warm and helpful. Abagatan is a good choice for family celebrations, weddings, Christmas parties, or a relaxing getaway.
