The quiet and the views ended up being the best part of our stay. It was so peaceful I could imagine living there forever, maybe adding ten years to my life. Breakfast was satisfying, and the caretakers were friendly and helpful. We booked at the last minute while looking for somewhere in Cuenca, Batangas. The photos of Ataalaya Farmhouse caught my eye, so my wife and I decided to try it. The farmhouse is a private home converted into a rental, with space for up to two groups at a time. One stays downstairs and the other upstairs. The second-floor rooms have the best views, if one is available, and you can rent the whole place for complete privacy. Getting there takes some care. The access road is narrow, almost like a one-way street. It’s remote too, so you can ask the caretaker to prepare meals; otherwise, you’ll have to take those narrow roads again to find a restaurant. I’d be happy to come back.

We booked Friday to Saturday and may have had the place to ourselves because of the timing. It felt so serene, with a stunning view of Mt. Maculot and Taal Lake. The staff were very accommodating, and the dogs were such a lovely part of the place. They were friendly and wanted to play with us. We had an amazing time, and I’d definitely recommend staying here. 🥰

Looking out over the lake, it’s an ideal spot to unwind and recharge. The hosts really try to make the stay memorable, and Patty and Mike were especially helpful. A visit to the neighboring animal farm can be arranged.

The owner was easy to coordinate with, and the staff member on site was friendly and made us a generous, delicious breakfast. I felt like I was staying at an Italian lakeside villa. The setting is beautiful, with views of Taal, Taal Lake and Mt Maculot. It’s a couple of kilometers from the highway, which helps give the place a calm, relaxing feel. Such a special find.

The access road is secluded and only wide enough for one car. At the gate, two women told us we needed a reservation just to see the place. We explained we were checking whether it would suit our three-day weekend, but since they wouldn’t let us in, we decided to find somewhere else to stay. Very bad visitor policy!
