My earlier stay at Elyseah condo was good and the room was nice, though the water pressure was often low or nonexistent, and the shower drain was extremely slow. After visiting Cebu and Boracay, I booked one night on Agoda and extended for another six at the hotel. On the third night, a guest scammed me. I asked staff for help, but they sided with the other guest and didn’t listen. I asked the owner to call the police, and they refused, telling me to go to the police station myself. As a foreign guest in the Philippines, I got no help from either the staff or owner. I felt unsafe and checked out halfway through. I didn’t dare ask for a refund of the 4,500 pesos remaining because dealing with the receptionist and owner was frightening, and the owner falsely accused me. If safety matters to you while traveling, I wouldn’t recommend Elyseah Condo based on what happened. This is my reply to the owner’s response: Good evening. You have my WhatsApp number because I messaged you asking you to call the police, but you didn’t help and accused me of something I didn’t do. I have proof in the WhatsApp message you sent me. You claim both parties must go to the police station when someone is scammed in the Philippines. Do you really think the scammer would agree to go, rather than run away to avoid the law? That guest did just that and disappeared while your receptionist knew what was happening. The receptionist did nothing to stop them leaving the premises. I paid 9,000 pesos at check-in, 1,500 per night, and stayed only three nights before leaving because of the scam. Will you refund the remaining 4,500 pesos? You still seem to be justifying yourself and the receptionist for letting the scammer leave after scamming me. How can you say safety matters at your hotel when that happened without consequences?
