OYO 786 Hotel T-ara

The only decent thing here was the pool. I stayed several days on a work trip, and it wasn’t a good experience. My first room had broken windows that seemed easy to break through. They moved me to another room, but there was no hot water in the shower, the room smelled, and the drain was clogged. The linen was old, musty and dusty, and there was no room cleaning during my stay.

My company booked this hotel for my four-week stay in Angeles, Pampanga. The exterior looks nice, and the room was spacious and matched the website photos, but inside it felt gloomy and had visible dirty spots. I asked for a cleaning, but nothing changed. The bathroom was the worst part: it smelled unpleasant, and the shower heads were rusty and grimy. I didn’t get a hotel-like feeling here. The smart TV and spacious floor area earn it one star from me, but beyond that, no. I also saw a couple of large flying cockroaches in the room, and cat poop along the carpeted corridor.

The outdoor pool was nice, and the staff were kind, but sanitation elsewhere was poor. We found cockroaches in the room, a hole in the ceiling, and serious leaks from both the air conditioner and bidet. The room never cooled enough. The telephone didn’t work, so we couldn’t call the lobby directly. The power went out while I was showering, and they took too long to start the generator. Finding our way with phone lights was a real struggle. It wasn’t a pleasant stay.

The woman who helped us was kind and accommodating, but I wish they’d told us about the room problems instead of assigning us there. If the better rooms were really full, they could have turned us away. We had another option, and this wasn’t worth 1,268 per night. We’d stayed here the previous month and liked the fresh-looking room on the first floor, so we booked again last weekend. We were first given room 202, which smelled strongly of cigarettes and looked worn down, with peeling paint and a TV propped on pieces of cardboard. Room 201 looked better at first, but water from the roof had soaked the closet, the area under the sink was flooding, and the shower had no hot water. The bed creaked and sagged in the middle. We were uncomfortable, but we’d checked in late after a long day and were too tired to complain.
