It's sad to see how neglected this hotel has become. I remember when staying here felt like something to be proud of, but those days seem to have passed. It has aged badly, though a modest renovation could make a real difference: a fresh coat of paint, new bathroom silicone, and a few small repairs. Our door had a 1.5 cm gap, the carpet was old and smelled, and the windows were so dirty it was hard to see out.

The buffet food was tasty and fairly priced, and the dining area wasn't crowded. The rest of the staff were polite, and we felt we got good value for our money. Still, a few moments made the meal feel less smooth than it could have been. Parking was a hassle. The guard at the front gave us different directions from the one at the back, so we spent about 30 minutes going back and forth to find a spot. One guard also seemed a bit condescending. We were out with family on a Saturday and didn't want that to spoil our time, so we let it go. At the ham station, my wife was given a full plate when she asked. Later, the chef gave me just one very thin slice and said it was “one slice at a time.” I noticed other guests got different portions, though none seemed as small as mine. I stayed polite, but the exchange felt odd and inconsistent. It didn't ruin the meal, though it did leave things feeling a little off. The selection leaned heavily toward Filipino dishes, with only a few other choices, so I would've liked more variety. There was also a confusing moment when we were shown to a table that already had a drink on it. The server removed it and told us to sit, but we asked for another table. A few minutes later, the person who owned the drink was seated at the first table, looking around for it.

The staff were warm and seemed quick to notice what we needed. Even with the vintage look, LFisher makes up for it with that kind of hospitality. We stayed last November 2025, and it felt comfortable, homey, and convenient, especially with Bacolod being such a busy city. The breakfast buffet was so good, and I couldn't get enough of their signature bacon.

The buffet was really good, but the dress code felt silly for a run-down hotel with a vibe of poor decisions and gambling addictions. The staff were nice and welcoming, but a lot else made the stay feel like a nightmare, almost a layer of hell. The room was in terrible shape. The carpet was disgusting, the tile work was awful, and there was mold in the grout and peeling moldy caulk in the shower. I was afraid to step on the floor. The old in-wall AC was gross, its filter hadn't been cleaned, and there was a strange smell everywhere. I woke early from jetlag and went downstairs for coffee. The first cup cost 200p. A different person charged me 120p for the second, and when a new guy served the third, he said the coffee was free. The pool was swimmable one day, but the surface was peeling all over and the water was mysteriously murky. The next night, a strange white substance was floating around, so I stayed out. Seeing starving kids around the hotel, shoeless and passed out on the street, looking dehydrated and emaciated, allegedly addicted to huffing paint, brought me to tears. I went home early with diarrhea. I wouldn't return or recommend it.

The room was okay, but everything looked old. The carpet seemed so moldy that I wondered if it was even vacuumed or deep-cleaned. The key cards looked a bit pathetic, taped up (see photo attached), and I also saw cockroach eggs in the bathroom. Breakfast service was poor, and the food choices weren't great. We were led to a table with a drink on it. The server, Janine, removed it and told us to sit, but we asked for another table. A few minutes later, the person who owned the drink was sitting there and looking around for it. At the buffet, I stood waiting to be served bacon while the girl serving it chose to serve some older-looking women first. And who serves Tender Juicy hotdogs in a four-star hotel? Booking here was a mistake. It feels like a hotel for people from the province, not visitors from Manila or other countries. If it doesn't renovate or do better, I think this hotel will die in the next 50 years.
