North Tourist Inn.

N-Bistro was a bright spot: the atmosphere felt warm, the lemon herb chicken and baby back ribs were excellent, breakfast was simple but tasty, and the servers were great. Staff were helpful and friendly, the main room area was clean, parking was in a gated courtyard, and some facilities were attractive. The inn is a couple of km north of Robinsons Mall. We stayed one night while preparing for Typhoon Verbena, then left early to find a quieter and larger rental about 7 km away that seemed better value. The City View room faced busy Lacson Street and an overpass, so it was noisy all night. Inner court rooms were quieter, but only fit two guests, and there were no extra cots. Mosquitos bit each of us several times. I also felt congested and sneezed on entering, possibly from pet exposure. The bathroom had odor and cleanliness problems, and the beds were very hard. The breakfast policy was unclear and misleading: “free breakfast” covered only the first morning, not all five. Free toiletries meant just a toothbrush, small toothpaste, and toilet paper, with no soap, shampoo, or other items. Towels were limited, and hand towels, washcloths, and extra linens cost extra. The age policy said children 6+ were charged as adults, which was unclear for families. Free Wi-Fi was unreliable and hard to log into. There was no elevator, only stairs to the second floor. The room was spacious, with a queen bed, a single bed, and a small table with two chairs. There was enough space to lay down a mat and do yoga. Wi-Fi worked fine, and the bathroom was decent with hot and cold water, though the sink seemed small for such a large space. We were generally satisfied. We booked a Triple Room facing busy Lacson Road and could hear traffic at all hours. The receptionist said all Triple Rooms face that side, so we couldn't switch. There's no elevator, which may not work well if you're traveling with senior parents. The receptionist said only standard rooms for two are on the ground floor. Check-in requires a Php 500 security deposit, and breakfast is included, though the choices are limited. They also have a family room for 4 pax that isn't on Agoda. The receptionist recommended contacting them to book it.

The room was okay, but it felt pricey for what it was. The third-floor suite had no elevator, and the place is closer to the airport than downtown or SM Mall. Everything else was as expected. Breakfast was very basic and not very good, and the staff at N Bistro didn't listen well. I had to wait until after checking out to get my 242P change. We left before breakfast time, so they gave us noodles and water, but there was no way to prepare or eat the noodles. It was an okay stay, nothing great but not all that bad.

The staff were friendly, which is why I'd give it two stars. The room size was okay, and having storage units helped keep our luggage off the floor because small ants were walking around. The bathroom was small but fine, though the shower flow was so weak that washing our hair took extra time. Bring cash, since they don't accept credit cards, though we found the same at many other places on our trip. Hard to praise breakfast when my husband and I both got sick after eating it.
