Stonehill Suites

The team made us feel welcome with friendly, helpful service, and breakfast was delivered right to the room. Everything was clean and well cared for. We had an amazing hotel stay and would highly recommend it.

After Typhoon Tino, we needed a dependable hotel with Wi-Fi and were lucky to get a room at Stonehill Suites. It was comfortable enough for us to stay and work, and everyone, from housekeeping to the front office, was polite and accommodating. I'd book again.

The location and food were fantastic, and the location actually helped us save money. The rest of the experience had some good points, but I can't recommend the hotel on location alone. A little more attention to detail could make it a fantastic place. The room had several problems. The floor felt greasy and waxy, so I didn't want to go barefoot, and there was cake or icing residue on the table, probably left by previous guests. The kettle was broken, the closet looked worn, and its drawers banged into the sliding doors, as if guests had trouble using them. There was no hair dryer, which wasn't an issue for us but could matter to others. Noise was another issue. The doors let in every sound from a party on our floor, including staff shouting cleanup instructions at 3 AM. Thicker doors and weatherproofing might help. The window also let light into the room all night, so it never got dark enough. Eye masks or turning off the interior hotel lights at night could help. Some of the room details were odd: the slippers were at the far end from the door, where they'd be less useful for keeping dirt off the floor, and there was no mirror by the desk. My wife had trouble doing her makeup for the wedding we attended because the only mirror was in the bathroom. I removed a service star from my original review because another guest had already mentioned the noise and dirty floors, and the hotel replied, but nothing was done. That's a shame, and empty promises from a hotel claiming luxury service shouldn't mislead other travelers.

The rooms were decent, but breakfast only rated a 3 for me. There wasn't much choice, and the hot dishes were basic. The meat was dry and seemed old, while the beef in the soup was still tough. Bread options were worse: dry pandesal, with no sliced bread or spread.
