La Fiesta Restobar and Inn

We stopped in for a meal while heading south, since it’s along the highway. There’s quite a lot of parking. The place smelled like copra, though, probably because it’s near where it’s stored or processed. I was starving and tried to order the breakfast plate with chorizo, egg, and rice, but it wasn’t available. We got pizza and sausage instead, and the wait was about an hour, which started to get annoying. It has a bar feel, with people drinking and smoking, so skip it if you don’t want to be around that. Most customers seemed to be foreigners, and the food was different from what I usually like as a fan of Filipino food. The pizza was tasty, though. They have live music and a buffet for 299php on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday nights. There are cottages for rent at 700php a night. My friend guessed they might be for people too drunk to head home. It was okay, but I probably won’t return.

The woman at the counter bar was so kind and helped us find the road to our resort. The food and desserts here are great, and the shop has a live band on Wednesdays, though I’m not sure whether they play on other nights. It’s in Dauin, Dumaguete City, about 26 minutes from Dumaguete Robinsons. They serve cold drinks and local and foreign dishes, with plenty of parking inside. Cottages are available to rent, but they’re quite shabby and clearly haven’t been maintained or repaired. The food is priced about as you’d expect.

The pizzas are great, with thin crusts. They offer 50% off on Tuesdays and Fridays. Most of the guests are foreigners.

Friendly, attentive staff, really good food, and a great atmosphere. Live bands too, it’s a nice place to have a good time.
