Camp john hay forest lodge

We started out with a studio suite and were pleasantly surprised by an upgrade to a superb one-bedroom room. It was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Service was a real highlight: staff were warm and professional, check-in went smoothly, and they handled our extra room requests promptly. The peaceful setting and beautiful ambiance added to the experience. For our first booking at The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay during a Baguio trip, it turned out to be excellent value. We’d gladly stay again.

For what we paid, the stay at Forest Lodge Hotel was disappointing. The rooms were hot even in February, with no air-conditioning and ventilation that didn’t keep them comfortable. Rest was difficult too: the pillows were so hard we woke with stiff necks, and without blackout curtains, the morning sun made it harder to sleep. The room itself felt old and outdated. There was no Netflix or other modern in-room entertainment either, which many hotels in this price range offer. We expected better comfort and room quality at this rate, and hope management will make upgrades.

The quiet pine tree setting was a lovely part of our family birthday stay, and we could easily walk to the nearby amphitheater and Bell House for a short trek. The Garden Wing was lively, with Panagbenga-inspired decorations, kiddie rides, and stalls. We also had dinner at The Twist, and every dish we tried was delicious. Our room was upgraded, giving us plenty of space and a balcony with a stunning view. Staff were warm, attentive, and reliable throughout. It made for a memorable birthday celebration.

Dominic and Catrina from reception made our anniversary stay at John Hay Hotel (Forest Wing) feel special from the start. Dominic, the Manager, and Catrina took time to show us the available rooms, and their patient, thoughtful help led us to an alternative we hadn’t considered. That room ended up being the highlight of our visit. The welcome was warm and professional, and their attention to detail really showed. The beautiful surroundings paired with such dedicated hospitality made our anniversary memorable. Thank you, Dominic and Catrina!
