The location made it easy to visit The Mansion, Wright Park, Mines View, and the Botanical Garden. We had a lovely stay at Ridgewood Hotel, and it felt like being at home. Ms. Christine was kind and helpful from the booking right through checkout. My partner and I would happily come back. 🌲😊

For a short stay in Baguio, this is an affordable and convenient option. It’s clean and comfortable enough, though the hotel feels a little old and some amenities could use an update. Getting to Wright Park, The Mansion, the horseback riding areas, cafés, and restaurants is easy. It’s practical rather than fancy.

The smell of mold was so strong that I woke up with irritated lungs. The beds were uncomfortable, there was just one chair, and the room had no fridge, AC, or heating, so I had to ask for blankets. No cutlery or tea either. Breakfast was disgusting meat with some rice, which I didn’t try. The hotel may have been nice 40 years ago, but now it’s very run down, and the staff seemed inexperienced. Avoid if you can.

The service didn’t make us feel welcome, and the place isn’t pet friendly. Parking was a headache too: if there’s no space on the ground floor, you have to take a very steep road two floors down to the basement, with no elevator. Our room smelled old and moldy. The sheets weren’t clean, there were lipstick marks on the pillows, and the bed felt itchy. Water also disappeared at night, though I don’t know if it was turned off or shut down. Losing it in the middle of using the bathroom was awful, and there was no hot water. WiFi was basically nonexistent, or very weak and unreliable when it did connect. Mobile data signal was weak too. Breakfast was nothing to look forward to, just cold packed meals in the morning. For a cheap, hassle-free stay, I’d look for an Airbnb instead. This was a hassle, especially over the holidays, and we’d paid expecting better from a hotel.

The property has a lot going for it. It’s spacious, in a fantastic location, and easy to get around from, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay. My family and I travel often and have tried hotels, transient houses, Airbnbs, and other setups, so we pay attention to what the price gets us. Here, some of the details didn’t quite match the cost. The room with a queen bed was almost 3,000 PHP, and we paid another 1,700 PHP for an extra bed for our mother, including breakfast. That bed felt like a hospital bed, and its blanket was very thin. For nearly 2,000 PHP per extra person per night, a better mattress would make more sense. The packed breakfast was inconsistent and felt too small for the price. We had ordered three-piece boneless bangus for everyone, but got sausages instead. We don’t eat pork for religious reasons, so we had to ask for a replacement. The meal had about a cup of rice, a teaspoon of atsara, just a few tiny pieces of fruit, a very small veggie salad with no dressing in mine, and a quarter piece of boneless bangus. That was disappointing since we’re from Dagupan, known for its boneless bangus. It came in a paper bag, and because staff were still arranging breakfast, it was cold by the time we ate. The free coffee was sugary 3-in-1, like what we’d get at a local sari-sari store. When we visit Baguio, we’re usually served brewed coffee at both high-end and budget hotels, so we expected a little more at this price. We think the place has real potential and would be glad to pay a bit more for improvements. A plated breakfast or buffet would help, and the location near popular tourist spots is a big plus. I hope the feedback helps with future stays.
