The food was great, and the customer service deserves credit, but the rooms felt eerie, like something from an '80s horror movie. The bathtub didn't work and the toilets clogged. Skyrise hotel came through when we were unexpectedly moved from Fe and Jun room rental during peak season and had no real choice. Would I stay again? Maybe. Recommend it? No.

The location is close to Mirador and nearby carinderias. We ended up here during a holiday long weekend with no reservation, and a typhoon meant we had very few options. The deluxe room cost a little under 2,000 and had two queen beds and an old bathtub, but the quality didn't match the price. Sanitation was poor, and the room smelled musty. There was no percolator or warm drinking water ready in the thermos, just an old cable TV. Worst of all, the cleaning staff entered our room while we were asleep. We really had nowhere else to go.

SkyRise Hotel is among the closest places to the grotto and Mirador Heritage Park, and you can walk to both. The staff were attentive and accommodating. We were grateful to find a room for the night after our original booking was unexpectedly canceled during peak season, when most hotels were full. My sister and I also know Baguio can feel chilly, at least for us Filipinos. Our room had two beds and no air conditioning, which seemed normal for the cool weather, but a musty smell lingered and made us wonder about its cleanliness. It had the basic hotel items: beds, pillows, blankets, towels, a cabinet if I remember right, two sofa seats, and an ottoman. In the bathroom there was a shower with hot water, a dipper instead of a bidet, a bar of soap, and a roll of tissue. If money is tight, it may be an option.

The receptionist on duty around noon to 7 pm wasn't friendly or approachable. We felt unwelcome. She didn't greet us when we arrived, and I remember having to greet her first and explain that we'd booked a room. We planned to extend our stay, but decided against it and found another hotel where we had a really nice time, unlike at Skyrise.

This is an aging hotel, and the worn condition shows in the building, rooms, amenities, halls, and venues. The rooms are small, and maintenance could be better. The price feels high for the quality. Housekeeping only cleans the rooms if you ask, not daily. We were given just one bar of soap; shampoo, a toothbrush, and toothpaste need to be brought or bought, though the lobby sells toiletries. It may be fine if you're not fussy and only need somewhere to sleep, but don't expect a great hotel stay.
