The Half House by Elmar Cabin

I booked at the last minute and was surprised to be upgraded to a Deluxe Double Room. Fe helped me before I arrived, explaining the house rules and how to get there by phone and text. The staff were responsive and ready to assist. Just keep in mind there’s a 1500 security deposit, refundable at checkout as long as there’s no damage to the room. Everything went smoothly, and I’d happily book here again. I highly recommend it.

The room was fine for eight, with two bedrooms, three double beds in each, a dining area, kitchen counter, stove (I’m not sure if cooking is allowed because I didn’t finish reading the rules), and a bathroom with hot water. We got one fan, though it was cold anyway. There was free Wi-Fi with a strong connection and a TV with Netflix. Parking is a real hassle: they only have space for two cars and suggested we park at SM Baguio because it’s “near.” I’d leave the car after checking in and use Grab to get around. They also charge 200.00 per hour for early check-in, which I’d never encountered before. We couldn’t find towels in the room, and staff initially said they weren’t provided, even though Agoda’s description says they are. They said towels could be rented for 100.00 each. After a long discussion, which ended with their “manager” calling me, they eventually brought towels. We hadn’t packed any, so this was frustrating. There were no toiletries or even a roll of tissue, so bring shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. They’re very stingy with essentials. Thanks, but I don’t think we’ll book here again.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the hot shower was a nice comfort. We paid 3,000 pesos for a room with three beds for six people, which felt budget-friendly. The view of the Baguio mountains was stunning, especially at night, and the place was peaceful. There aren’t many charging sockets, and it’s quite far from downtown, which could be inconvenient, but it’s a good scenic option.

The staff made our stay, especially the person who offered me her room so I could get ready when there were too many of us in ours. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious enough for our family of 12, and we liked the large bathroom. The price was reasonable, and the place was comfortable without being fancy. There were no cabinets and only a few power sockets, so bring an extension cord if you’re coming with a large group. Parking is limited to two cars. It’s a nice option for families or a big group of friends.
