The Circle Hostel Baler

The rooms and dorms weren’t the cleanest, though that’s something you might expect at a lot of backpacker places. The rest has a fun, laid-back feel, with great staff and surf instructors, a decent little restaurant serving cheap food, and a common area with good vibes. Definitely a casual backpacker spot.

Just a five-minute walk to the beach, and don’t skip their coffee. I loved the hostel’s distinctive look, with inspiring quote paintings and cute drawings everywhere. It’s a great hideout from city life, and a nice place to meet people from all over. Best hostel I’ve ever stayed in!

The only real drawback was the music from nearby places, though it quieted down around 1 AM. After surfing and drinking Lambanog, the local coconut wine, you may be too tired to care. We stayed four nights with friends and had an amazing time. The staff were friendly and helpful, and on the right night Rafael, who runs the place, made us sashimi with fish caught just an hour earlier. The dorm hut was nice, with bunk beds and mosquito nets, though private rooms are limited. There are hammocks, board racks, and a mini half-pipe beside a spacious lounging platform with bean bags and other seating. The beach, surf shops, and local restaurants are all a short walk away. It’s a low-key, friendly, relaxing place.

It’s a budget-friendly hostel that’s great for backpackers visiting Baler. The reception and staff were honest, welcoming, and helpful. I was rushing and careless, and left my tablet in the room. I only realized once we’d reached Casiguran, our next stop. I called and asked them to check carefully, and they confirmed it was there. Ate viah was very willing to help ship it back to us. I was grateful, even though the tablet wasn’t especially valuable, since I still use it. I recommend this place. 👌👌👍👍👍😉😉
