The guest house is right in the center of town and good value for the cost. The owner, Liezel, is very nice and happy to help with anything guests need. Room 3 is the best, with an amazing view from the window.

The location works well for solo travelers and backpackers, with public transport nearby and restaurants close by. The checkout time is 9:00 a.m., though, and my bus home didn’t leave until 3:00 p.m., which felt disappointing.

Following Google Maps led us astray: Koreen Guest House is actually 2.4 kms from the location shown. We sent the corrected pin to the Google Map Team, and hopefully it gets updated soon. At least the suggested correction is now showing in the right place. Thanks, Google Team. We also learned that six other tourists had already been lost there like us.

The place is cool and good, and I’ll definitely come back. We visited in the wet season, so expect plenty of brownouts and bring a power bank. Jinky at reception was really kind. Five minutes before we left the terminal, she called to say I’d left my wallet with important documents, including my passport, behind. She sent a driver straight to the terminal so I could get it back. Thank you, Jinky!

It’s in the city center, and we had an overall good stay. The place is affordable, although it felt a bit expensive for what you get: no air conditioning, soap, or shampoo. They serve tap water and say it’s safe to drink because it comes from mountain springs.
