The Orange House - Vigan Villa

I really liked the restaurant. The food tasted great, and the surroundings were nice. The house itself was big enough, but the kitchen didn’t have enough plates and utensils for all the people checking in. There’s no AC on the first floor, in the living room or kitchen, so it got very hot and wasn’t enjoyable to hang out there. The Airbnb listing mentioned karaoke, but there wasn’t any.

The place is large and comfortable, with enough rooms for over 20 people. The CRs were clean and nice, and the toilets had bidets. You can cook in the kitchen if you don’t mind skipping a meal out, and there’s also a restaurant/cafe next door. It’s fairly close to Vigan’s tourist spots, so it’s easy to wander around and return when you’re tired from sightseeing.

We stayed in the River house loft and really liked it, especially the amazing river view. It’s a few minutes from calle crisologo, but that didn’t matter since we had our own car. A nice, budget friendly option for families looking for a room.

I found this place through YouTube vlogs and knew from the beginning it wasn’t within walking distance of Calle Crisologo. That was fine since we planned to drive, and the cozy, family friendly feel appealed to me. I first booked for five, then changed it to three when my mom and uncle couldn’t join. Booking was easy, they quickly responded on FB Messenger, and they even agreed to refund the payment for the two who couldn’t come. Check-in went smoothly thanks to the kind staff. We booked River House Loft Unit 1, which was very spacious and made for a good night’s sleep. They have a restaurant cafe with a few breakfast set meals. We already had plans to try Vigan’s specialty foods, so we ate there only once. The food was okay, and we liked their version of poqui poqui. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always smiling. On our second night we got back around 10-11 in the evening and realized we didn’t have the right key. I messaged them on FB, and they made a real effort to drive 15 to 20 minutes from their home to help us get into our room with a duplicate key. I later learned the kind couple who came all that way were the owner’s brother and his wife. We really appreciated their help. They’re lovely, kind people from Ilocos. The price was fantastic for how clean and well maintained the place was. Big thanks to the friendly, approachable, always smiling staff. If we get back to Vigan, we’ll definitely stay here again.
