Troy Lodge

Linda made my time in Batanes memorable. She's so kind and was always happy to suggest things to do, restaurants nearby, and activities around Batanes. Troy Lodge felt like home, with a very comfortable bed and fast Wi-Fi, handy for working online or staying connected where coverage can be scarce. The lodge is in a convenient spot in Basco town, near shops and restaurants, and less than a five-minute walk from the airport. I'm looking forward to coming back to this piece of paradise. Nanay Linda was the best host. She even gave us wine, though she doesn't drink alcohol. The place is basic and old, but clean, and there's a kitchen for cooking. The toilet wasn't that clean. This was the cheapest stay I found on Agoda. It's about a five-minute walk from the airport, just turn left and go straight. The Wi-Fi no longer uses Starlink because of an equipment problem; now it's Globe and PLDT prepaid. Globe was faster for me there, but the connection was spotty and speeds unreliable. Smart and Globe signals improve nearer the municipal hall, so if Wi-Fi matters a lot, I'd suggest a hotel with Starlink or one closer to the municipal hall.

Nanay Linda was very sweet and had a real motherly way about her. She was friendly and talkative, and helped us with travel tips and transportation. The rooms were clean, and there are only four, so it didn't feel crowded. Air conditioning costs 1k. There's a kitchen and shared toilet upstairs, plus a large balcony for fresh air. Restaurants are nearby, and the place is among the cheapest in town, I think. Nanay Linda also has a sari2x store. The walls seem to be plywood, so noise from other rooms carries easily, though it was quiet during our stay. Recommended.

The owner was helpful and laid-back, and the room was comfortable enough for the very affordable price. There's a big, breezy balcony that's nice for spending the afternoon after tours. Just remember this is a homestay, not a hotel or pension house. Basco is a small town, so there isn't much to do once your tour is over. I didn't catch the owner's name, but thank you for being so helpful.
