The unlabeled little toiletry bottles were confusing, and there was no drinking water at all. We were a group of six and had to bring everything from Manila to Bolinao, with the car already packed. I understand guests bring their own supplies, but not even a small bottle was provided. The beach also wasn’t safe for swimming, with sharp rocks and tides that seemed to shift quickly, though the pools were clean all day, cleaned daily, four feet deep, and great for relaxing. The property is lovely, quiet, and well cared for, and the cabins are nice. We stayed in Marcel. But plumbing problems really got in the way: one of our three bathrooms had a blocked shower drain, and the main kitchen sink was clogged too. The caretakers came back several times and tried hard to sort it out with what they had. Management apologized, but the problem seemed deeper than something liquid sosa could fix. Having repair attempts go on during our stay made it hard to unwind, especially for the price. We appreciated the staff’s effort, but got no compensation or other consideration beyond “Apologies for this.” It’s a small thing, but none of the shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion bottles had labels, so we couldn’t tell them apart and may have mixed them up. In the end, the inconveniences outweighed the peaceful setting and nice pools for us. The place wasn’t worth the eight-hour drive from Manila.
