Blue Lotus Hotel

If you like a peaceful spot and value privacy, this hotel is a good fit. You can walk to both the eastern and western sides of the island from here. The staff were welcoming and even offered us umbrellas in the rain. I liked having a choice of hot or cold water in the shower. The building is thoughtfully laid out, and both the reception and our room looked pleasing. We'd happily stay again and recommend it.

I wish I could have stayed longer, but there were no rooms left. The breakfast ended at 9 AM, which was sometimes too early for me. For around 30€ a night, this was easily the best of the several Boracay hotels I stayed in over two weeks. It was very good value, with a fresh, clean room that was fairly large, furnished well, and had a fridge. They cleaned it daily, and the location was handy, about 3 minutes from the beach and central station 2. I really have nothing else negative to say, so I was surprised to see so many bad reviews.

The location made getting to the beach and mall easy, and the staff were accommodating when we needed help. The night shift staff kindly offered alternatives when our shower heater stopped working. One staff member offered to warm water for us too, but we declined because we didn't want to put her through the extra trouble. The person who welcomed us seemed less confident with guests and kept looking down, though she was still welcoming. Inside, the dining room and our room looked nice. The exterior and reception felt dark because of the poor lighting. Our room was comfortable enough, with a firm mattress, soft pillows, working air conditioning, drinks in the mini fridge, and plenty of cable channels. The free breakfast was decent and neatly presented, and there were other meal options. But on the third day, I noticed a white oily substance on the rims of the juice glasses, as if they hadn't been cleaned properly. The room arrangement was a bigger disappointment. We were three people and expected one double bed plus a single bed, but got a double bed and a mattress on the floor. We had to accept it because the other rooms were booked and another building was being reconstructed, so unavailable. They shouldn't accept bookings for rooms they can't provide as advertised and then offer an alternative. The bathroom had several problems. There weren't enough hooks for clothes, no bidet, and the little rack was directly above the toilet paper, so hanging wet beach clothes there soaked the paper. Water pooled around the sink because there was no drainage, and there were no rugs to keep the floor dry. The heater worked only on the first day, leaving us with cold showers for the rest of the stay, which wasn't pleasant in an air-conditioned room. The hotel has the basics for an affordable stay, but its facilities and service could use improvement. It's a decent place overall, especially for the convenient access.

We had a homey, peaceful stay for three nights, with the hotel close to everything. The staff were helpful and accommodating, and the place was clean. You can ask for room cleaning after all the water activities, since sand does get carried back into the room 🤭🤫
