The hotel’s location is great: step out and you’re right by the beach, with restaurants next door. The room size was reasonable for the price, around 3000 pesos or $70 CAD a night, but I expected it to be nicer. The ceiling and walls had patchwork, and some floor tiles were loose. The bathroom was a nightmare. A ceiling tile wasn’t fitted properly, the toilet bowl hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the toilet’s water basin was cracked at the top right corner. There was mold, so we kept the bathroom door closed and the fan on throughout our stay. The shower was missing its glass sliding door, leaving water everywhere, and we saw cockroaches in there multiple times. I personally wouldn’t return. The photos shown are misleading. Room 204 was what I saw every time I lay in bed. I didn’t take bathroom photos because I don’t want to remember it.

The beach is right in front, which is an excellent location, but the standard room wasn’t maintained well. I knew it was the cheapest room and didn’t expect much, but there was long hair in the bathroom before I’d even showered. The tap dripped because of its design and wouldn’t close properly. The sink had visible dirt, as if it had been skipped, and one of the cups had a stain from a spoon that looked like it had been used to make coffee and just rinsed before being put away. I was so disgusted I didn’t want to keep looking or take photos. They let us move to a cleaned room, but the balcony door had a wide gap at the bottom that let insects, especially mosquitoes, in. I got many bites in one night, and the next night both eyes were bitten and completely swollen, making it hard to see. Maybe the pool-front rooms are better, I don’t know. The furniture clearly had termites, leaving dust in several places. The fridge had mold when we plugged it in and opened it, then smelled like cheese Doritos after a couple of days, in a bad way. If you’re staying long term, pay more for the nicer rooms or don’t stay here. All the problems took time out of our trip, which was unfortunate.

The room was clean, comfortable, and nice, and the Wi-Fi was excellent, which was handy for working during our stay. My nephew and niece especially loved the pool, and the staff were very helpful while we were there from January 1st to the 4th. If you have lots of luggage, contact them ahead of time because they have a cart to help with it. The resort exterior shows its age a little, with some chipped cement on the balcony, but we loved our stay at The Peninsula.

Station 2 is the one thing this place has going for it. We stayed three days and left unhappy with the service. The rooms are old and need major repairs, with cracks throughout, broken lamps, no phone, and a TV that isn't smart. The faucet leaks, and the bathroom smells bad. Towels are worn out and rough, and there was no cleaning service. It was hard to tell who worked there because the employees had no proper uniforms. The hallway felt creepy, with dim lighting and no CCTV, and the back door was dirty and unsettling. Don't trust the photos on their profile, they don't show the place accurately. We won't return or recommend it.

The best thing about Boracay Peninsula is how easy it is to get around from there: it's on the front beach and just a short walk from D’Mall, restaurants, and other attractions. Our two rooms were spacious, with large bathrooms, and a veranda overlooking part of the beach and pool. My parents' room was right next to ours, which worked well for the family. Since our rooms were ready after an early flight, they let us check in ahead of time without a fee, which we really appreciated. There were some drawbacks. The hotel looked a little old, and construction nearby made things noisy and dusty during our stay. We found quite a few bugs and mosquitoes in the room, the TV didn't work, and the pool didn't look very clean. I felt itchy after a quick dip, so I didn't swim again. It was an okay stay for the price, with room to improve on upkeep and cleanliness.
