The neighborhood felt sketchy, and the place is way up the hill, so walking is tough or a tricycle costs 200p. The shower’s hot water was connected with a regular plug, and I nearly got electrocuted. The landlady showed no sympathy and made us pay for repairs. When we left, she also made claims about damage. She charged for repainting because the walls had changed color, but there’s no kitchen exhaust and the ventilation is poor with those little windows. Rain also comes through the walls and discolors them. The microwave stopped working during our stay; she said she’d fix it, but we never got it back, and then she charged us for a whole new one. She even charged to clean the towels and bedsheets she had provided. Were we supposed to sleep on the floor and leave without showering? I wouldn’t recommend this place. Other reviews make it sound like she takes people’s security deposits and then says, “you knew the rules,” even though those rules were never explained.

There’s love and care all around!

I’ve never cooked at home, since the beach has great spots for aperitifs and affordable lunch or dinner. It’s a 7-10 minute walk away. The location is wonderful for me, a little up the hill with a spectacular sea view. The Italian-Filipino owners are very friendly, and cleaning is regular. It is a bit outside the island center, but with some bargaining you can get a ride for a reasonable 150 pesos. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to Boracay.

I was here for a week. The place is comfortable and close to the sea, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive to every detail and need. I’d come back!
