Erus Suites Hotel Boracay

At Erus Hotel, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and the service was better than we expected. From check-in through check-out, the staff were attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Our flight was cancelled because of bad weather and had to be moved a few days later. I called Agoda, the booking company, and they agreed we should get a refund or reschedule even though the policy said otherwise. Erus told us rescheduling couldn’t be done because the rooms were full. We accepted that and asked for a refund instead. They tried to send us back to Agoda, but Agoda said the decision was Erus’s and tried calling them. Agoda representatives told us they called six or seven times, and that Erus hung up whenever they raised the refund. The management acts in bad faith and takes your money even when no service is provided. Their policies are anti-consumer, and they take your money shamelessly. I wouldn’t recommend them for a second.

We couldn’t sleep well that night. My wife and I found the air heavy and humid, and woke up feeling sick and uncomfortable, almost as if breathing properly was difficult. The room smelled strongly of mold and damp as soon as we entered. The building felt old, with outdated furniture and equipment, poor cleanliness, and a constant bad odor. We told the front desk, but housekeeping only sprayed fabric conditioner and air freshener over the smell. It came back soon after. The next room we requested was musty and humid too. At breakfast, I began having stomach discomfort and asked if they could make me a simple boiled egg. The staff said cooking boiled eggs in the kitchen was prohibited, which disappointed me, especially at a hotel that claims to provide decent service. The hotel needs renovation, better air quality, and staff who can properly respond to guest concerns. It was not worth the price, affected our health during the stay, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it.

The rooms had mold, stained sheets, and a very hard bed. There was also an old, musty odor, like cigarette smoke had settled into the walls. Breakfast was PHP 250 per plate, with just four choices and very small portions, so keep your expectations modest. If you’re looking for a budget option, I’d look elsewhere. We had a bad stay. When the power goes out, the generator fluctuates and there’s effectively no electricity. There’s no mobile signal around the property, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t reach the rooms, so neither mobile data nor Wi-Fi was usable. TikTok reviews make it sound nice and well managed, but that wasn’t our experience.
