Grand Blue Beach Hotel

The hotel is on a quieter stretch of beach, so it isn’t as busy as some other areas, and the rooms are beautiful. I enjoyed the delicious free breakfast, especially the beef tapas. They also have a good 2 for 1 happy hour and offer laundry service. Ask them to help set up a sunset Paraw sailing.

I liked the bright beach color pattern in the room. It was basic and minimal, but clean and comfortable for the price, and there’s a safe for valuables while you go swimming. Staff were friendly, polite, and not intimidating. Station 3 was quiet, away from the party bars in Station 2. I booked Grand Blue Beach hotel early October. Check-in is the usual 2pm for the area, and checkout is at 12 noon. There’s an open smoking area in the adjoining property, and a minibar where you can buy drinks. Remote workers should know the basic rooms don’t have enough space for a laptop, but there’s a porch with a small table and chairs where you can work.

The hotel is very basic, but you come to Boracay for the beautiful beach. This is a genuine beachfront property, and our room was spacious and clean. Staff were great, including the security guard, who was attentive and thoughtful. Water pressure stayed strong and steady, and there’s a generator for power interruptions. Keep a close eye on your belongings around sunset. Kids go around picking pockets.

The room we received was a shabby little space, nothing like the one shown in the Expedia confirmation picture. We had thought we’d be in the hotel itself, but instead it was in another area down a dingy alley called the annex. We were very disappointed. We complained to reception and the manager on sight, and the one good thing was that they offered a full refund. After a lot of frustration and losing two days of our one-week holiday, we finally received it.
