Hostel Avenue

The beach is right in front of the hostel, and the rate is 650 pesos ($13.00) a night. They arrange water activities and give guests discounts, which can save you money. It’s a very nice place for a solo backpacker, with clean showers and toilets. The staff were approachable and accommodating, and the fellow travelers were cool. I had a lot of fun with people from different parts of the world, and they became close friends, by the way.

When I was there on a Monday night, they had free unlimited booze. Erwin is a legend, and I had a great time talking with him. The bed was comfy, the toilets were clean, the staff really friendly, and the location excellent. It’s a good spot for budget travelers. What else do you need? I’ll definitely come back whenever I’m in Boracay :)

The location was perfect, and the hostel was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly, too. I’ve stayed in hostels while traveling, but this was my first time doing so in the Philippines, and it didn’t disappoint. I’d give it five stars if the shower were hot and had stronger pressure. The room is very cold, so getting into that cold shower takes some guts. Brrrr 😄 I hope they’ve installed hot water by the time I visit again. 😅

What might put you off is sharing a room with as many as 20 people, along with the shower and toilet. If sharing those facilities doesn’t suit you, you might prefer a private room with its own bathroom down in Station 3. If you’re okay with shared facilities, bring some alcohol to disinfect the toilet before using it. The inn sits above Pat's Creek Bar, close to restaurants, bars and, most importantly, the beach. Location, price and easy access are its main advantages. There’s also a veranda where guests can drink, smoke or play music. Or just enjoy the music drifting over from BomBom and Pat's at night. It’s still worth a try, especially if you’ll spend most of your time out and about.
