Sulu Sea Boutique Hotel

It’s quiet at night, the staff are friendly and polite, and there are lovely dogs. The place is huge, with a less crowded beach and a great restaurant, Dinibeach, nearby. Breakfast was okay. For the money, it’s alright. It’s secluded, though, with not much around. Expect to pay 200-300php for a trip to the dmall area or take a long walk. The bathroom smelled of urine, and the shower door was extremely hard to use and squeaked terribly. When it rains, quite a lot of water drips from the ceiling onto the kitchen floor. The wardrobe wasn’t useful: one door wouldn’t open and there wasn’t a single hanger. There was only one tiny round table in the bedroom, which felt inadequate for such a big room. Some shelving or at least one low table would be better.

We had a warm welcome, checked in easily, and were shown to a spacious, very clean room with a comfortable bed and a great view. It’s a lovely spot, just a short stroll from white sandy beach, clear water, and a few relaxed bars. The local beach is about a minute away, and it’s a 15-minute walk to the main street. A tuk-tuk ride is about 15 minutes and costs $pd300. I’d recommend this friendly, clean little gem.

The price feels fair for what you get. The staff and dogs were super nice, and the bed sheets and towels were clean and white. The bed was really big and comfortable. It’s a great location if you like privacy. We stayed for a week, and it was quiet the whole time with no problems or complaints. Our room opened onto the garden, but we weren’t bothered by insects.

I wish I had more photos of the room, because it was really nice. We had a top-floor room with a king-sized bed, hot shower, air conditioning, kitchen, and private veranda. The staff were polite, and breakfast was simple but really tasty. Diniwid beach is a short walk away, and City Mall is nearby if you want to cook and eat in. It’s a quiet, out-of-the-way place, away from the busy station-style hotels.
