Astrotel Calamba

We booked just 2 hrs before arriving. The staff were all good, and the room and restroom were clean. I’d recommend this hotel and give it 5 stars.

The VIP room was filthy and nothing like its pictures. The aircon wasn’t even cold, and everything looked dirty. We left and got no refund.

The rooms are small and bare, and the TV didn’t work. Staff weren’t approachable at all, and the way we were treated was unpleasant. We paid for the room, then got told we had just 10mins to leave. C’mon, we already knew that.

The room was filthy, falling apart, and nothing like the pictures. It’s a Love Hotel where you can rent by the hour. I almost laughed when I checked in and the woman at the desk, wearing a bright orange wig and space themed costume, asked how many hours I needed. It had seen better days. I’d been traveling for 2 days with no sleep and had never been to Calamba before. I was walking to Astrotel, hadn’t seen any other hotels, so I took the room. I didn’t feel safe leaving my bags there, and stayed in rather than going out for dinner. I thought I could order water from the little snack menu, but no luck. Staff wouldn’t put down their cell phones to answer guests. The location is the one good thing. A few paces from the hotel, you can get onto the bridge over the crazy traffic, and when you get off, you’re at SM CALAMBA, which is very nice. I don’t normally review a place after a bad experience because I don’t know what people may be going through, and don’t want to leave a bad review if it was just a one-time bad day. But unless you want to go to a $€× hotel, find somewhere else where you’ll be safer and have staff who do their jobs. I’d read a lot of reviews about the place, but nobody told me about any amenities. There wasn’t even a single bottle of water in the room, and as I said, staff didn’t answer the phone. I was nervous to leave my luggage unattended, so I just went without water. More reasons to stay away. I told a friend I felt like I’d need vaccines after staying there. It was that disgusting. In my 5 years living in the Philippines 🇵🇭 🇺🇸 ❤️, I’ve stayed at lots of budget hotels, good and bad, but even the worst of those was nowhere near as bad as this one.
