I was willing to support the business despite how hard it was to get there, and we would have stayed for several nights. Instead, the whole experience left me feeling upset and cheated because of James' poor business handling and what I felt was dishonesty. The trip from Caticlan port to Tablas Island was very unclear to plan. Online information didn't match how the ferry schedules worked, and the boat times for reaching Turtle Cove weren't listed in the ad when I booked. Getting from Santa Fe to Caltrava was another ordeal. I only learned after booking that there was no food or water at the resort, so we'd need to buy all our supplies in Caltrava. With the information available, there was no way we'd make it from Caticalan to Caltrava in time for the last boat. I contacted James right away to ask about cancelling or changing the dates, but his replies felt unfair and he wouldn't compromise. I accept that I made the booking and knew the cancellation policy, but given the circumstances I asked to move the dates. He would only agree for a large fee, which would have made the stay cost 150% of the original amount. What made this especially sour was James telling me several times that we were the only guests booked that week, and that he'd already paid his workers, so he wouldn't accommodate us. I don't understand why he was paying workers if there were no guests. A responsible business owner should be able to manage the money for staff without taking money from foreigners. I booked without realizing how complicated the journey would be. James was unwilling to help with cancelling or rescheduling, and I felt he treated me unfairly throughout.

Calatrava itself is beautiful, but our stay at Turtle Cove was a nightmare. The directions were confusing, and the owners were very rude. Reaching the resort requires a 30-minute boat ride. When we arrived, two locals seemed genuinely worried about us and urged us to contact the owner, even though there was no signal or Wi-Fi. There was no food or water, and no owner there to meet us. Our room smelled strongly of mold, had mold in it, and didn't even have sheets. I consider that a serious health risk. We only got off the island because one local took a Bangka to find a network connection and call the boat captain to come back for us. Without their help, we would have been stuck without basic supplies or any way to communicate. What was advertised didn't match what we found, and the experience was deeply misleading and unacceptable. I hope the owner recognizes the health hazards and at least warns people. Stay far away from Turtle Cove. The conditions and risks aren't worth it.

The cottages and room are very affordable, and the entrance fee is just 20 pesos. We found the toilets clean and nice, and the staff were kind and accommodating. I loved the views, and we especially enjoyed swimming in the sea at the 3rd cove. The friendly dogs are there too, you'll love them.

It takes a boat from calatrava to get here, and the place is rustic, a long way from everything. This is no longer managed by Paski Cove and is now called Turtle Bay. The owners are kind and help guests find things to do nearby and make their stay comfortable. The rooms were comfortable, the food was good, and being right by the ocean with three coves was amazing. It's obviously not a 5-star hotel, but I hope to return soon.

After a long trip from romblon, around 5 hours by boat, jepneey, and tricycle, we arrived to find a very unclean place. We'd called ahead and were told they had a family room, but the former owner who greeted us said he'd been the one talking to us on the phone and had no idea about an actual booking. He said there was no family room available, only bungalows at 2,500 php each. We'd spoken several times and spent a lot of money getting there. Things got stranger after that. The hotel seemed abandoned. The person doing the chef, reception, janitor, and everything else said there was no swimming pool or internet, even though the website advertises them. He also said almost all the food and activities were unavailable because he was alone. Later, ten people appeared out of nowhere and were just sleeping under the Palm trees. Generally, it felt like a very shady place.
