The bathroom barely flushed and had a strange smell, and the linens were stained. The night staff also made the stay uncomfortable: someone rang our bell around 4:00 AM just to deliver the receipt, then at about 5:30 AM Michael asked for payment for breakfast in a way that felt abrupt and intrusive. I don’t know whether that’s their usual policy. The staff who were on duty when I checked in on July 29, 2025, at around 2:00 PM were friendly and welcoming, though. I wouldn’t recommend staying here, even in an emergency, given the disruption and discomfort we had.

Food options aren’t close by, so you’ll need to take a jeepney to find an eatery or fast food place. You can order at the inn instead, with prices from 80-300, which is more convenient late at night. The room we got had an unpleasant toilet smell. El Vistra Travellers Inn is easy to spot along Mac Arthur highway, and offers a 30% discount for check-ins from 8pm onwards. As far as I know, it’s the only hotel or inn in Calumpit, Bulacan, so there may not be much choice unless you know someone in the community who can put you up overnight.

The staff were friendly, which was a plus, but the stay was rough. The toilet was clogged and wouldn’t flush, and the bowl wouldn’t refill, so I had to fill it myself. The sheets were stained, and there were spiders, cockroaches, mosquitoes, and bed bugs. At first glance, the place seemed cozy, but that impression didn’t last through the night.

The food tasted good and I’d recommend eating there or staying for a while. There was no Wi-Fi.
