The Maximilian Hotel

We'd just finished a two-week trip through the north, staying at six hotels and visiting several places. This was the only one where we felt we were treated this way. We were traveling from Cagayan to Manila with our 2-year-old and needed somewhere to rest for the night before continuing the next day. We arrived at 1:10 PM for a walk-in and politely asked for early check-in. The front desk said check-in was at 2:00 PM. After I explained that our child needed to rest, they agreed to let us in after a 20-minute wait. While we were waiting, a foreigner arrived after us and was helped right away. He was greeted warmly, smiled at, and welcomed enthusiastically. The desk told him his room had been upgraded from Superior to Premium, with a better view on the 3rd floor, even though he hadn't asked. They said, “That’s on me, sir,” and checked him in within seconds, while we were still waiting. We'd booked a Deluxe, a higher category, but didn't receive the same courtesy or welcome. Worse, we were given a room with the worst possible view, facing a factory, even though it was Tuesday and the hotel clearly wasn't full. To the front desk team, please treat all guests equally and give them the best service you can. You're the frontliners of the business. Don't judge guests by how they look. I may look simple, but that doesn't define my professionalism or capacity as a guest.

I've stayed at this hotel several times. It's very close to Cauayan airport and has easy parking, clean modern rooms, a very good restaurant, and a swimming pool in a beautiful garden. People across management, Front desk, the coffee corner, housekeeping, maintenance, and the restaurant have all been friendly and professional. They're always ready to help when something comes up. Very good value for the price.

The room was nicely furnished and comfortable, with a relaxing feel. The staff were attentive and cheerful, and the amenities and atmosphere made our recent stay at The Maximilian Hotel memorable. We'd happily recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant stay.

The breakfast buffet had tasty Filipino dishes alongside other cuisines, and the rooms were clean, modern, and well maintained. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed staying at the Maximilian, which we think is the best hotel in Cagayan Valley, and would recommend it for any occasion.
