Beaver Hotel

At checkout they charged me 500 pesos, saying I had stained a towel. I felt like I’d been scammed, and I was so disappointed. The towel was already dirty when I arrived, and when I asked for a replacement, they said they had to check with the supervisor first. After Sinulog, I had no pink paint on my face or body. Poor service, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The stained towel I was given at Beaver Hotel Cebu left me questioning the cleanliness of the room and the rest of the hotel. If towels aren’t washed or checked properly, what else might be getting missed? Clean linens should be a basic standard, and this felt unhygienic and unacceptable. My stay was a big disappointment. I wouldn’t recommend Beaver Hotel Cebu to anyone wanting a clean, comfortable place. Management needs to do better with housekeeping and quality checks. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

The room was noisy, with sounds from the hallway and neighboring rooms coming through, so it’s not a good fit if you’re sensitive to noise or want peace and quiet. Room 406 also smelled of smoke, and the sheets and pillowcase had an old smell. There was no bottled water, coffee, or hot water in the room, though you can use a dispenser on the lower floors. Parking is limited, but they do provide spaces a few meters away.

We paid 1,200 a night for four nights. I’d suggest calling the hotel instead of booking through Agoda. The staff we met were nice, and the room was clean enough, but there was no bidet and the aircon wasn’t very cold. The problem came after we asked staff to make up the room on day two. That night, reception said the kettle was broken and showed us a picture of a cracked handle. We were shocked and got charged 1,500 for the crack on a very old kettle. We’d used it the night before to transfer water, and my wife would have noticed the damage. I don’t think our three-year-old could have broken it: we’d have seen it fall, the floor would have been wet, and he’s careful even when we let him hold a glass of water borrowed from the hotel. If we’d known this could happen, we would have photographed or recorded everything in the room. I hope the same thing doesn’t happen to the next guest.
