Cordova Reef Village Resort

For day use the entrance costs 60, and night use is 120. You can set up a tent if you like camping, but overnight stays aren't allowed and the place closes at 10 pm. The staff were welcoming and kept the restrooms maintained. The resort doesn't look much like the photos now and has a bit of an abandoned feel, but it can still be a peaceful getaway if you set your expectations accordingly.

It's a lovely, clean-pool kind of place with delicious food and lovely staff, but there isn't much to do, and it's a long way from the tourist attractions. The beach is man made, so swimming there isn't great. We had booked five nights and stayed just one before moving closer to the sights we wanted to visit, at least a four-hour drive away. The beds were a little too hard, and the bathroom didn't offer much privacy.

The cottages are rundown and need refreshing, and I didn't feel I got what I paid for. The resort itself is quiet and relaxing, with a nice, well-kept pool and few guests. Beds were clean, the food was great, and staff were friendly, caring, and helpful. Breakfast could have had a bit more variety for European visitors. They brought food to the room for free and provided complimentary water. Wi-Fi was only available at reception unless arranged otherwise.

The setting has a lovely tropical feel, with open spaces and distinctive architecture. We really enjoyed our stay. The food was delicious, and the staff were attentive and friendly, going out of their way to make us feel welcome.
