Malapatel

We had a comfortable six-night holiday with friends at Malapatel, and we'd gladly return. The staff were good, and housekeeping service was good too. The rooms were spacious, including downstairs, which could suit a couple or someone wanting to be alone. It's close to bounty beach, bars, restaurants, and the market, which is an easy walk. There are dogs and kids around the area, so be aware of them. Their dogs were good, and the place felt family friendly. It's an older property, but the owner we spoke with said they plan to renovate and improve it during the low season.

As a solo traveler, I was happy with the room service during my six-night stay at Malapatel. I requested a room refresh and got fresh towels. The shower worked fine, though the pressure went from low to fast at times. Everything was easy to get to, including the market, and I enjoyed the beach. They can help with laundry, transfers, and other things you need. Check-out is at noon. If you need something, ring the bell, as staff may be outside cleaning. They usually close at 7pm. It's a small family-run place, so that was understandable and okay with me. Thank you, Malapatel. Until my next holiday.

We stayed downstairs for two nights, then moved upstairs, where the room was quite spacious. Most of my stay was rainy, with wind and storm conditions, and the Wi-Fi was slow then. Still, my wife, our baby, and I were there to explore and have fun, so the rain didn't bother us too much. It was nice talking with the staff. They said the owners are a young couple living in Japan who visit once a year. You can refill water, and staff will help with questions, assistance, and understanding local customs. The two dogs and baby weren't noisy. What we did hear was church mass, loud drums, and live bands at night. Expect more noise during fiestas, Christmas, and New Year's. That's part of the Philippines' camaraderie, culture, and style, so get used to it and enjoy the moment. Thank you, Malapatel.

We stayed four nights. Clean sheets, good AC, fast Wi-Fi, and prompt service, with a great location. We also dove with atlas malapascua, a three-minute walk away and four minutes from shore.
