The location felt very unpleasant. The surrounding area seemed extremely poor, like a slum beside a cemetery where people live among the tombs. As a white person, I felt completely out of place among the locals. At the hotel, the toilets didn't work and we were told to flush them with a bucket. The sinks were broken too, so we brushed our teeth in the shower, the only source of water. Breakfast was cold and oily.

We paid 7,633.00 pesos and had an awful stay, especially painful since it was my sister's and my birthday. At first the staff were kind, helped with our belongings, and showed us the rooms. I'd booked eight, but the owner's cousin said one was being used by another guest, so we got seven. They offered a complimentary breakfast, which I accepted. We only made tinulang isda, adobo na baboy, and tinula na manok, but a small butane stove that costs 30 pesos elsewhere was charged to us at 200 pesos. I felt embarrassed and looked down on when I borrowed a food container that seemed to cost only 50 pesos at the market, just to hold soup. A male staff member refused and sarcastically said something about it. Another staff member added that it could get lost because other people had stolen it, which made me feel as though he was suggesting we might steal it. At 6 a.m. we were told not to use the pool because it had just been treated with chlorine. They knew guests were still there, and I wondered why they hadn't done it earlier, especially since the kids wanted to swim. We also weren't allowed to go to the beach. My booking was from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. the next day, so why had we come to the resort, just to wait for checkout? After I asked again, they let us use the pool. Then at 9:38 a.m. a male staff member told us to stop because checkout was at 11. That was embarrassing all over again. I asked the owner's cousin when we were meant to leave, but he seemed unsure. I mentioned the checkout times I'd had at a five-star hotel and other places; he said their policy let us stay until noon because we still had lunch to eat, so I accepted that. At 11:25 we started tidying the room and gathering our things. Heavy rain, like a storm surge at sea, lasted more than 40 minutes and kept us stuck inside. My blind grandfather has arthritis, so we tried to help him and gave him medicine. Management kept asking why we were still there. They wanted us to leave in the middle of that rain. At the information desk, the owner's cousin accused us of causing the problem by not leaving exactly at 11, saying we wouldn't have encountered the storm otherwise. I was extremely upset, especially with my family there and our 80-year-old blind grandfather. Their words and actions felt like harassment, and my heart was breaking. I confronted him again and compared the checkout time with the previous hotel we'd stayed at. After he checked the booking and called the owner, he apologized and said we were actually supposed to check out by 5 p.m. The damage was done. We went home in the rain with tears in our eyes and heavy hearts. This experience wasn't worth the hassle, time, effort, or money, and I strongly don't recommend the resort.

The pool was clean, the bed was great, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. It was surprisingly amazing and affordable, though a little hard to find. This hidden gem has a lovely history, and I'll definitely return. Thanks again, Auntie.

It's a nice place to hide away, with an excellent location, clean pool, and very nice rooms. The staff are good too. It's not especially beautiful, though.

It's inside a squatter area, so the place was hard to find. The stay itself was decent enough and there's a great sea view, but there are still plenty of things that could be improved.
