The room was comfortable, with a hot and cold shower, cabinet, AC, mirrors, a bedside table, and a cozy bed. The place was tidy, and the free breakfast of bread, spreads, and arabic coffee was surprisingly filling. Their café is handy too. Getting around was easy, with People's Park, Grand Mall Ilustre, food spots, laundry shops, and convenience stores nearby. Staff were kind and quick to bring plates or utensils when we asked. There’s no in-room phone for service, but we didn’t mind going downstairs to talk to them. You can ask for extra pillows, or bring your own, though they cost extra. They’ve been operating for 15 years, and their FB page replies as soon as they can. We’d recommend it and come back.

I usually choose a shared room here when I’m in Davao, and the bed is comfortable, with cold AC, my own lamp, and a power outlet. The shared comfort room has always been clean, and they provide soap and shampoo. I even got a basic hygiene kit for free. There’s a light breakfast too, with unlimited coffee and bread plus several fillings. Parking is limited, but the place feels safe when I arrive late, so it’s worked well for me.

For a night or a weekend in downtown Davao, the price and location make this mini hotel a reasonable option. The self-service continental breakfast is free. Still, I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone who needs a dark, quiet room to sleep. Light comes through a glass panel above the door even with the room lights off, and hallway sounds carry inside. We were in the far corner by the kitchen, so before dawn we could hear breakfast being prepared and smell the food.

Affordable and the air conditioner worked well, which makes it a decent backpacker option. But roof construction woke me at 8 AM. I normally get up at 9, and the footsteps and painful drilling noise were a rough way to start the day. I might come back far in the future, though this will probably color how I remember the dormitel for a while.
