Bakhaw Bed & Breakfast

The bed setup was a letdown. I booked a double bed as a solo traveler, but got twin beds, and my request to switch wasn’t met even though the property seemed to have no other guests. The staff could have been kinder too. With my 7AM flight, I checked out around 6AM and had to ask for a cup of black coffee; no breakfast was offered. The pool looked murky, so I didn’t use it, and the place feels old enough that I wouldn’t expect everything to work perfectly. Still, the rooms were small but well kept, with strong ACs, and its location right by the airport makes it hard to miss even an early flight. The curtains aren’t blackout, so outside light comes into the room at night. The property is fairly large but somehow feels isolated, with a sense of past glory. It’s a bit pricey for what it is, though the location makes it okay.

We’ve stayed here a few times because it’s so close to the airport, and the rooms and aircon are good. The staff are friendly, and in general the place is fine. But our flight was at 0755, and breakfast was included in the price yet only started at 0700, too late for us. They offered to serve it as a hot meal the evening before, which missed the point of having breakfast before a flight. Since they present themselves as an airport hotel, you’d think they might time meals around the roughly nine flights into the airport. Maybe I’m being fussy. The pool was murky, and the TV looked like it was from the 90s. I /

At night there aren’t any restaurants nearby, so bring takeaway or ask the staff if they can cook a meal for you. The place feels more like a home than a hotel, which I liked. Rooms are okay and spacious, with a hot shower in the bathroom. There’s no bidet.

There was no restaurant, and the swimming pool was too dirty to use. We booked one queen-size bed but were given two single beds.
