The people were great, and it was a great experience. While I was taking a walk near the hotel, I saw a Draco mindanensis cross in front of me, then five flying Rufous hornbill on the top deck. Unreal.

The setting is nice if you love hiking and nature, but staying in the cabanas was a disaster and a nightmare. Insects were everywhere. The mosquito net had big holes, so they all got into our bed. I definitely won't come back.

Zen Tierras Farm, in the suburbs of Brgy. Matawe in Dingalan, is surrounded by plants, flowers, and trees. Clear, cool spring water trickles downhill, and the farm is set up for guests to relax in nature. The food is great too. If you want to experience bliss in pure nature, this place will calm your spirit.

The owner was very hospitable, and the place was okay. But I was charged for transportation from their Head office to the farm without being told about the fee upfront. Since the accommodation is in the forest and only reachable by a 4x4 car, I thought the ride should have been free.

Zen Tierras is a great escape from the city bustle, with natural pools that are super cool and lovely to soak in. There are, I think, 3 couple rooms and 5 family rooms for overnight stays. The owner and crew are very kind and accommodating. There’s no mobile or wifi signal in the area, which is perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature. Try their tupig and sinigang na pampano while you’re there.
