Hotel Camila 2

We stayed at Hotel Camila 2 for a week. It was alright, and a family member who stayed here a few years ago had recommended it. The price was fair, the rooms were spacious and had mini fridges, and there was a pool and restaurant with free breakfast. The rotunda is very close, which I think makes the location useful if you're transiting around the area. The staff were nice and helpful, though I expected a bit more. The breakfast was simple, and they didn't have half the items listed. Power only works when you put your card in the holder, a setup I've seen around Asia, but that can mean returning to a warm room. Our AC unit was tilted, with gaps letting in air and light. Ants were quick to show up if we left food out. I've had that happen at some other Dipolog hotels, though not all. The bathroom smelled of sewage too. I've encountered that in other places in Dipolog, but not in the more modern ones. It felt like an older hotel that could use some maintenance. If you want a pool and to save a few hundred pesos a night, it's not bad. Otherwise, there are a couple of more modern options.

The carpeted floors were a detail I really liked, and the food was very good. We had a room for three or more people. Customer service was good too. The pool should stay open later, and the hot and cold shower could use improvement. All in all, a pretty nice hotel, a little pricey but worth it.

I tried two rooms on different floors and ran into the same problems in both. The Wi-Fi would work for 5-10 minutes, then go down for 10-15, so don't stay here if you need it for business. The room power and AC only come on when your key card is in the slot, which meant it took half the night to cool the room down. There was no hot water, and a quick shower was necessary because the drain could overflow into the room. I had to ask for toilet paper, and the refrigerators didn't keep things cool. I think they shut off when you leave the room. The beds were foam mattresses, not real beds, but they were comfortable enough for what I needed. The rooms look very nice, but there are underlying issues that haven't been fixed, as other reviews mention. I canceled the rest of my stay and moved to another hotel in town. I saved money there and had everything I reported as wrong here working.

We stayed two nights in a Deluxe Room, with free breakfast and free swimming for kids from 9am to 10am. It’s a great place to stay and the staff are helpful. The telephone staff don’t always answer when you call, though, and I’d rate the Wi-Fi as fair rather than excellent.
