Hotel Essencia

I walked in without booking and the staff were very friendly. The hot stones massage was thorough and methodical, with no rushing. The therapists seemed trained and proficient, and the rooms were clean. My only reason for not giving five stars is that the rooms are near reception, so you can clearly hear the area, which was a bit of a letdown.

The spa ended up being my best experience during my three nights at Hotel Essencia. I was unsure at first because there weren’t many reviews, but the therapists are certified and it shows. A couple of days ago I had an incredible hot stone massage, and the foot massage was so good I fell asleep. They seem to have specials Monday through Saturday, I believe, so look out for those. Highly recommend if you want to ease some tension.

It’s handy that the spa is in the hotel, but I’ll try another place for the money. I chose a package with Swedish massage, foot scrub, and facial, and they did several services at once in a lounge chair. The facial and foot scrub weren’t in a typical facial room with a steamer and lights. The massage beds are only divided by curtains, so you hear staff talking and laughing, as others have mentioned. There wasn’t really a place to put my belongings, and the shorts they provided were for skinny people. It was also hard to tell if the spa was open because the office was dark.
