PVL Suites

They insisted on charging us 500 pesos for each of two hand towels, claiming we had stained them. We didn't use those towels at all, only the bath towels. They gave no proper documentation or proof that the towels came from our room or that we had caused any stains.

PVL Suites was a lovely surprise, and I'm really glad we chose it after reading reviews around Dumaguete. We stayed in a junior suite on the 3rd floor with a microwave, hot pot, and kitchenette, which worked well for an extended stay. The decor is consistent and fancy throughout. At night we could get away from the street noise, and the room stayed cool all day even with the aircon off. After exploring the city, it was a comfort to come back to the room. I liked being away from the busy ocean boulevard, while still being within walking distance of lots of good places to eat. The 711 downstairs was handy too. We had the pleasure of meeting the manager Rea, who was professional, courteous, and helpful. All the staff were friendly and ready to help. I'll book here again next time I'm in Dumaguete.

Cozy rooms, a divine bed, and soft pillows make this one of the city's best value hotels. The cafe on the ground floor serves good food and coffee. I love staying here, and would recommend it to family and friends. It's underrated.

From the guard to the receptionists, everyone was kind and welcoming, with smiles that rubbed off on us. The guard even called tricycles for us every time. When we visit my grandma again, we'll definitely stay here. 85 degrees Artisan Cafe is in the lobby, with tasty food, drinks, and pastries. There's also a 7-11, and the place is convenient and accessible, near the airport. Five stars doesn't feel like enough, 1M/10.
