Devayn's Inn

We lost the money for our hotel reservation. We'd booked a ferry through them, but they didn't tell us it had been canceled. We only found out at the port that day, while all these people were waiting for a ferry that would never come.

The friendly service and location are the best things about this place. It's right next to nightlife, and cheap if that's what you're after, but don't expect too much. The rooms are old, small and poorly maintained, with no windows. The bathroom stinks and is dirty from lack of maintenance, and there are small insects. It looks better in the pictures.

The attached cafe was a bonus, and the staff were all friendly. Cherry went especially out of her way to help us extend our stay. It's great value, close to the beach and just down the road from El Nido's main center. Rooms are simple but have what you need, including a line on each balcony for drying wet clothes and towels. Complimentary drinking water is provided.

For the price and location, this place is hard to beat. You get the basics and more: hot showers, drinking water, a comfortable bed, motorbike rental, and tour packages. The AC was loud, which was my one complaint. Ate Cherry was always accommodating, too. I’d happily recommend it.
