El Nido Reef Strand Resort

Most rooms face the sea, so we woke each morning to wonderful views of the bay and the islets across from us. The team offered free shuttles to the town square, arranged several activities, and were always available. They went above and beyond, and I'd definitely stay again. Ate Rhose, Oli, and the whole team made our stay wonderful. We arrived well past midnight after a five-hour van ride from Puerto Princesa, and they still welcomed us warmly and looked after us throughout. Get in touch with them if you need airport transfers; they can arrange them easily.

Rose helped organize our trips and activities, and she really made our time in El Nido memorable. We're so glad we found this hidden gem. The resort views will take your breath away, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff are amazing.

The staff were very nice, and the hotel does offer transport to the Town Square. But trips after 5 pm come with a charge, and getting there on foot or by vehicle is awkward. The only access is a terrible back street that narrows to a path for trikes and motorbikes, then an alleyway to the entrance. The location isn't good. The property shows signs of poor maintenance. Our room could only be accessed through a sliding door, and its bad rollers made it hard to open or close. There was nowhere to get a good grip, so it was easy to hurt your fingers. Maintenance overall was very poor.

We paid for three nights but left after two. The room smelled like an old basement, the surroundings were dirty, and the hotel was far too expensive for what it offered. We booked a room with a sea view, but there wasn't one. I was bitten more than 60 times during the night and was itchy as hell. I don't know what caused it, maybe bed bugs. This should be a two-star hotel at most.
